A trip to Italy will never be complete without you craving for an Italian ice cream which is recognized by several experts to be the best ice cream in the world. Gelato can be found in almost all tourist destinations in Italy. It only takes a little walk and you’ll easily come across a colorful container of refrigerated gelato gleaming on the sidewalk in a bright and sunny day.
Some bars and special ice cream parlors also offer gelato and a selection of special ice cream dishes, like sundaes. But of course, you’ll be paying more for your ice cream and for sitting down, particularly in larger cities. Look for signs with gelato fatto en casa (homemade), artiginale (artisan), or produzione propia (our own production) written on them.
